Our sustainability
BIOARCHITECTURE
Vivi was born from the renovation of an old building, choosing restoration over new construction and avoiding the unnecessary cementification of green areas. Nestled within the Adamello Brenta Natural Park, the largest protected area in Trentino, Vivi is surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
ENERGY & RESOURCES
The original building we restored belonged to energy class E, but today, Vivi is a bioclimatic home rated A+. The structure is primarily made of wood, a natural insulator that, combined with thermal insulation, significantly reduces the building’s energy needs. Moreover, Vivi is powered mainly by clean energy from renewable sources, including solar panels, photovoltaic systems, and heat pumps.
MATERIALS
The core structure of Vivi is built from wood, a zero CO₂ emission, renewable resource sourced from certified sustainably managed forests. In addition to being eco-friendly, wood is a breathable material, ensuring better indoor air quality. Many of our furniture pieces are also crafted from fallen trees, recovered from forests and transformed by skilled artisans.
Vivi has also eliminated single-use plastics, favoring natural materials such as wood, glass, stone, and organic fiberslike eucalyptus, hemp, and cotton.
SUPPORTING THE LOCAL ECONOMY
We are deeply committed to our territory and take pride in investing in local businesses. From design to construction, every phase of Vivi’s transformation was entrusted to young Trentino-based entrepreneurs and master craftsmen, whose expertise has exceeded our highest expectations.
HUMAN VALUE
People are at the heart of everything we do. We actively promote the employment of young local talent, ensuring they feel part of a bigger, welcoming, and genuine ecosystem. We celebrate diverse skills and fight against all forms of inequality.
ZERO WASTE COMMITMENT
We combat waste in all its forms. Our breakfast baskets are designed to minimize food waste, a common issue in buffet-style dining. Any surplus food is offered free of charge to our guests in the lounge area. Additionally, to reduce excessive water consumption, we have installed water-saving devices and awareness plaques encouraging responsible usage of this essential resource.
A SHARED RESPONSIBILITY
Picking up litter during a walk, turning off the lights when leaving, closing the tap while lathering up, supporting local products, reusing provided towels, choosing to cycle instead of drive—these may seem like small, insignificant actions. After all, what difference does a single drop make in the ocean? But if you think about it, the ocean itself is made up of countless drops.
Likewise, when one mindful individual inspires ten, a hundred, or a thousand, real change becomes possible.
Together, in our own small way, we can build a more equitable and sustainable world.
